Surface Preparation:
Step 1. Lightly sand the foam surface with 220 grit sand paper.

Step 2. Mix Lightweight Spackle and Durham's Water Putty (available at most hardware stores) in a 1:1 ratio. Dilute with water until it flows like paint.

Step 3. Brush a liberal coat all over the foam surface making sure that the whole surface is covered and all holes are filled. Allow to dry completely.

Step 4. Sand the surface with 330 grit sand paper. Follow with 400 grit sand paper for a smooth finish. Vacuum all dust.

Step 5. Apply a coat of Latex Primer (available at your local hardware store). Allow to dry for 24 hours before LS-2 application.

 

LS-2 Application: (Room temp must be above 70 deg F and humidity above 35 %)
Step 1. Stir PART B completely before mixing with PART A.

Step 2. Mix 1 part by volume of PART A with 1 part by volume of PART B in a clean container.

Step 3. Stir gently until mixture is one color, specially around the edges.

Step 4. Apply with a clean foam brush with as few brush strokes as possible. Avoid going over areas already covered. Brush marks will disappear in a few minutes.

Step 5. LS-2 will hardened in 1 to 2 hours. Additional coats may be applied ½ hour apart for best results. Leave undisturbed for 24 hours in a dust free area at 70 to 80 degrees F.

Step6. If necessary, LS-2 can be wet sanded.
 

Note: Working time is approx 30 minutes. But if LS2 is kept in a sealed container, working time is extended to several hours.

Painting:
 Wait 24 hours before applying paint. LS-2 may be painted with most common paints. Test first to ensure that the paint you are using does not attack LS-2. Lightly rub the surface with steel wool or use a light coat of primer paint for better paint adhesion.

Trouble Shooting

 Reason Action
 Material becomes too thick too fast. Mixture outside temperature range or contamination with water. Condition the Parts to 72F. Store in a dry place.

Coating blisters after applying to foam surface

Mixture contaminated with water or surface is wet.

Surfaces must be completely dry. Allow the Latex Primer coat to dry overnight before applying LS2
Uneven color, rubs off

Incomplete mixing of the Component B

Stir Component B before adding component A
Sticky Spots

Poor Mixing technique or wrong mix ratio of part a to part b

Mix exactly 1 part A to 1 part B by volume before use.

PRECAUTIONS: Use in a ventilated area. May cause eye and skin irritation. If contact with eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes. Wash skin with soap and water. If irritation persists seek medical attention. Always wear safety glasses, gloves and a breathing mask.

LS-2 Storage & Working Conditions:
- Shelf live is 6 months from purchase.
 - LS-2 should be stored in sealed container at temperatures between 70 & 80 F
- Surfaces to be covered, stirrers, brushes, and mixing vessels must be dust and moisture free.
- During application, temperature must be between 70 & 80 degrees F & humidity above 35%
